How To Reach St. James's Hospital

To get to the hospital by car, please use our Interactive Map by clicking here.  Please select the department you require or if you do not know, select Concourse from the drop down list and a red arrow will indicate that department on the Map.  Click on the red arrow and a small window appears.  At the bottom of the window you will see directions saying 'to here' and 'from here'.  Click on the “to here” and enter your start address. A new window appears and will give you directions to the hospital.

By Bus

The Dublin Bus Route 123 passes through the hospital grounds and stops near the main hospital entrance. 
From the city centre, 40 and 13 stop at the James’s Street entrance.
The 68 stops on the South Circular Road close to the Rialto Gate entrance.

By LUAS

The Red Line between Tallaght and Connolly Station has three stops adjacent to the hospital.  The James’s stop is at the James’s Street entrance.  The Rialto and Fatima stops are nearby.  This line also serves Heuston and Connolly Stations.

The hospital has a number of free phone taxi courtesy phones in the main concourse, Discharge lounge area and Emergency Department. This services is available on a 24/7 basis with no call out charge.
